Ryan Wong, Consultant & Facilitator at Ladder of Life

Ryan Wong

Consultant & Facilitator

Profile

An Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, government scholarship recipient, and graduate of the nation's foremost university — Ryan brings a rare combination of legal precision, strategic rigour, and real-world experience to every client engagement.

His legal career spans the full spectrum of high-stakes practice — from training in Corporate M&A, where he worked on cross-border transactions, due diligence and deal structuring, to time spent in Litigation, sharpening the discipline of building arguments under pressure and reading what is really at stake on the other side of the table. He also practised in Conveyancing, navigating the precision and discretion required to shepherd clients through some of the largest financial decisions of their lives. The throughline across all three: the ability to hold complexity calmly, ask the harder question, and turn ambiguity into a clear path forward.

His career also includes graduating top of cohort in the training programme of a globally recognised, industry-leading service organisation — developing the composure, discretion, and attention to detail that now defines Ladder of Life's standard of service.

Beyond the courtroom, he has built and scaled ventures across technology, luxury goods, and education — operating inside the same high-stakes decisions our clients face daily, and learning first-hand what it takes to move a business from idea to traction.

Certified in Strategic Conflict Management and experienced in leading community initiatives, he brings a multidimensional perspective to consulting — informed equally by the arts, multiple languages, and a deep understanding of human complexity.

"Too many brilliant people make suboptimal decisions — not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack a genuinely honest strategic partner. That's the gap this practice exists to close."

Amanda Swee, Consultant & Lead Facilitator

Amanda Swee

Consultant & Lead Facilitator

Profile

An experience designer, UX strategist and seasoned facilitator, Amanda brings a rare blend of structured method and lateral thinking to the practice. A Distinction graduate in Industrial Design (Honours) from the National University of Singapore and an Art Elective Programme Scholar, she has spent her career working at the intersection of design, research, and human behaviour.

Most recently as Lead UX Designer at an enterprise AML compliance platform, she led full product overhauls, governed UX logic across multiple products, and ran user research and co-creation sessions with clients. Recognised three times by the company: Brand Ambassador (2022, 2024) and Woman of the Year (2023).

Before that, she was a Design Engineer at a leading university- affiliated international design centre, where she facilitated workshops for organisations across Defence, Transport, Telecommunications and Government — and trained other facilitators. She had also led intensives for clients across aviation, defence, security, and real estate — including C-suite and special forces audiences.

A LUMA-certified practitioner, published co-author on design innovation methodology, and recipient of the SG Good Design Award (2022), Amanda anchors the facilitation craft behind every workshop we deliver — and brings the same rigour to the strategic, visual and communication dimensions of our advisory work.

"Good design is mostly the hidden work — the emotional, social and structural decisions nobody sees. The same is true of any room worth winning."

Patrick Wong, Advisor at Ladder of Life

Patrick Wong

Advisor

Profile

Patrick joins Ladder of Life as an Advisor — not in a consulting capacity, but as a senior voice we draw on for the decades of hospitality, service and operational leadership he has accumulated across some of Singapore's most demanding food & beverage and service environments.

Today, Patrick is the Founder and Owner of S'Chorus Music, a premier Play & Sing music school in Singapore — a venture that reflects both his entrepreneurial instincts and his lifelong commitment to craft, community and the patient cultivation of people.

His operating career spans more than three decades at the highest end of service. He has held senior Food & Beverage leadership roles across leading hotels, private members' clubs and fine dining establishments in Singapore — heading hotel F&B departments, running multi-outlet club operations, and authoring the Standard Operating Procedures for a marquee elevated dining experience. Earlier in his career, he held restaurant management positions at distinguished hotel grills and brasseries.

Before his career in hospitality, Patrick spent a decade excelling within a globally recognised, industry-leading service organisation. It is the same standard of composure, discretion and attention to detail that remains woven into how Ladder of Life works today.

He holds WSQ Food Hygiene Officer Certification, ITE Industry Trainer Certificates and an HR Management Certificate from his time within that service organisation.

"Service, at its highest level, is the same discipline everywhere — whether it's a dining room, a private members' club, or a music studio. Standards are kept by people who care about the smallest details."

Amy Yuen, Advisor at Ladder of Life

Amy Yuen

Advisor

Profile

Amy joins Ladder of Life as an Advisor. Across more than three decades, her career has moved fluently between operations, marketing communications, fundraising and the arts — a rare combination of disciplines that informs how we think about running a service practice that has to deliver, day after day.

She brings that same operating instinct to her current role as the operational backbone behind a premier Play & Sing music school in Singapore — running the day-to-day systems that keep the learning experience disciplined, warm and reliable for every family who walks through the door.

Most recently, she has served as Data Protection Officer and previously as Fundraiser for a Singapore foundation — developing the organisation's personal data protection policies and processes, conceptualising fundraising campaigns, and stewarding major donors. Before that, as Admin Manager of a large preschool, she led a team of six across licensing compliance, enrolment, procurement, transport, menu planning and staff rostering, working closely with government bodies and parents.

Her marketing and communications career spans senior roles at a luxury hotel, a leading private members' club, and a national symphonic organisation — covering advertising, PR, website and social media, content strategy and integrated campaign execution. Earlier in her career, she served as Music Director of a major Singapore radio station, leading music direction, playlist curation, and production for live shows, concerts and events. She also founded Singapore's first online directory for musicians and music companies.

Amy holds a Master of Marketing Communication from the University of Canberra, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Communication, an Advanced Diploma in Mass Communication, and a Diploma in Audio Engineering.

"Operations is where intention meets reality. The organisations that earn trust are the ones whose systems quietly deliver — every day, for every person who walks through the door."

In their own words

"We have sat across boardroom tables, stood in courtrooms, navigated global markets, and built companies from nothing. Every environment taught us the same truth — the best decisions come from stripping away assumptions and building from what's real."

Real World Experience

One team. One body of
lived experience.

What follows isn't a list of accolades plucked from individual CVs. It's the combined ground we stand on — the rooms we've sat in, the businesses we've built, and the disciplines we draw on when we sit down with you.

01

Trained where the stakes are real.

Between us, we have been admitted as Advocates & Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Singapore, held a national scholarship, and graduated from Singapore's foremost university — including a distinction in Industrial Design (Honours) and an Art Elective Programme scholarship. The legal training shapes how we reason from first principles; the design training shapes how we structure problems; the academic grounding shapes our refusal to accept inherited assumptions at face value.

02

Practised inside high-stakes environments.

Our work has spanned Corporate M&A, litigation and conveyancing — environments where ambiguity has to be turned into a clear path forward under pressure. We have served as Lead UX Designer on enterprise AML compliance, governed personal data protection as a Data Protection Officer for a Singapore foundation, and held Risk Management leadership earlier in our careers. The throughline: holding complexity calmly, asking the harder question, and protecting the client's downside while moving them forward.

03

Built and run real businesses.

We have founded and scaled ventures across technology, luxury goods, education and the arts — including the founding and ownership of a premier Play & Sing music school in Singapore. We have led senior Food & Beverage operations across leading hotels, private members' clubs and fine dining establishments for three decades — heading hotel F&B departments, running multi-outlet club operations, and authoring the Standard Operating Procedures behind a marquee elevated dining experience. We know what it takes to move an idea to traction, and what it takes to keep an operation running on the days no one is watching.

04

Shaped how organisations communicate and decide.

Across more than two decades, we have led marketing and communications strategy in hospitality, private members' clubs and the arts — from advertising and PR to digital, content and integrated campaign execution, anchored by a Master of Marketing Communication. As certified strategic conflict managers and master facilitators trained at a leading university-affiliated international design centre, we have run intensives for C-suite leaders and special forces audiences across aviation, defence, security and real estate, and co-authored the facilitator handbook used to embed those methods inside organisations.

05

Recognised by the industries we serve.

Our work has been recognised through a Singapore Good Design Award, a Woman of the Year title, and repeat Brand Ambassador honours — alongside published, co-authored work on design innovation methodology. Rooted in music and the arts (from radio Music Director and Head of Production for live shows and concerts, to executive roles in symphonic marketing and education, to founding Singapore's first online directory for musicians and music companies), the team brings a multidimensional perspective that few consulting practices can match.

The work

"Diagnose. Decide.
Drill or Deploy. Hand Over."

One operating discipline. Three pillars. The work speaks for itself.
